The goal of every endodontist is to save the tooth, specifically its root.
Treating the root canals is a fundamental conservative procedure. This branch of dental medicine is called endodontics. In Dental Clinic Jelušić, we perform endodontic procedures completely pain-free with the use of local anesthesia.
Upon the emergence of caries or as a result of other mechanical processes, diminishing of the vital structures and “nerves” occurs, which causes severe pain, formation of granulomas and the development of infections.
The endodontic process begins with the removal of infected tooth tissue, removal of the infected tooth pulp and the chemical or

mechanical cleaning of the tooth canal. Due to the specific and complex structure and shape of the canals inside to root of the tooth, it is necessary to precisely determine the length of the canal for the endodontic process. In order to determine the length of the root canal and to control the cleaning and filling process of the canal, we use a special electronic device for measuring the length of the root canal – apex locator – as well as small-dimension digital RTG images that ensure the complete visualization of the tooth’s root structure with minimal radiation.
An endodontically well-treated tooth can serve the patient for many years to come, and can be subsequently used as an anchor for a crown or bridge.
A smile opens many doors, and healthy teeth are a prerequisite for a beautiful smile and the self-esteem it accompanies. Though many fail to remember, teeth are an excellent indicator of the body’s general condition as well as of our relationship toward our own health.
